How much does this service cost?
regcode.com is currently a free service to both consumers and software vendors.
 
How do I make a deposit?
We refer to adding an entry to your account as a "deposit" since registration codes are basically an asset, and you can think of regcode.com as your registration code bank.

Once you have created an account from the Signup area, you can now Login with your email address and password.

After you login, you will then have the option to  "Add a New Code".
 
How do I change information in one of my entries?
Once you have created an account from the Signup area, you can now Login with your email address and password.

Simply click on the product name of the item you wish to modify or delete.

A detail page will appear with the option to "Edit", "Delete" or "Email"

 

Can other people see my listings?
The only way that other people can view your information is by logging in with your email address and correct password.

REGCODE.COM provides a Full Access, Browse Only, and Deposit Only passwords for various types of access.

Your entries may only be viewed by logging in with the Full Access or Browse Only passwords. 

The Deposit Only password provides no access to your account information and is used ONLY to add an item.

 

What is a “FULL ACCESS” password?
A Full Access password allows you to edit information on your account, make deposits, and the ability to edit and delete them. 

You should not give this out to anyone
. Not even to vendors, they should use the “Deposit Only” password described below.

What is a "DEPOSIT ONLY" password?
A "Deposit Only" password can be used by our participating vendors to make a direct deposit of registration information into your account.  They cannot retrieve or edit any of your information using this password - this is purely to drop-off information only. 

You must provide a vendor with both the email address and the "deposit only" password before they are able to add the entry to your account.

You should not be required to provide this information to any software vendor, for any reason, as this is a purely optional feature. (If any vendor requires this information to complete an order, please contact abuse@regcode.com)

 

What is a "BROWSE ONLY" password?
In some cases, it is desirable to provide access to your regcode.com entries for key individuals in your organization or family.

By creating a "Browse Only" password, you can allow them to access your information for the purpose of "BROWSING" the entries and retrieve registration information only.  When logged in using this password, account information and registration entries cannot be changed or deleted.

This option gives you the peace of mind that your entries won't accidentally be deleted or modified, and that your password and other member profile information won't be changed without your knowledge.

 
How do I change my personal information?
After you login, simply click on the "Edit Your Profile" menu option.

You MUST be logged in with the Full Access password in order to access this area.  Browse Only access does not allow changing of your member information.

 
Can software vendors access my entries?
No, software vendors are not given access to any account or personal information in our database.

Even when you provide a participating vendor with the "Deposit Only" password, they are restricted to only being able to add information.  Even if they make a mistake after depositing registration information, they cannot view or modify the entry.
 
I received an email message that somebody made a deposit to my account - what does this mean?
When a software vendor makes a deposit to your account using your email address and "Deposit Only" password, you will be notified immediately via Email.

Only authorized vendors can perform this function and we log all transactions.  If you have not divulged your Deposit Only password to any vendors, please email abuse@regcode.com immediately.

 
I received an email message that my account was modified, but I didn't make any changes!
For security, whenever our on-line system is used to modify a user profile, an email confirmation of the activity is sent to the owner of the account.

All account modifications are logged.  If you did not make a modification to your account and you received a notification message, please contact abuse@regcode.com immediately.

 
Why do I need to accept cookies?
regcode.com uses cookies to avoid passing your full login credentials back and forth across the internet.

We simply use cookies to compare session specific information with the information we have stored on our servers to insure that the person accessing your account is the person who originally logged into your account.

Contrary to popular hype, the use of cookies in conjunction with server side security provide a very secure method of insuring that access to your information is being performed by the user who originally provided the proper login credentials.

 
I forgot my password - how can I access my account?
From the "Login" page, click on the link "Forgot your Password?". 

We will send the password ONLY to the email address of the account owner.

 
My email address has changed AND I forgot my password, what do I do?

Well, that's a big problem - here's why.

If your email address has changed, AND you have forgotten your password, you have only one option.
  1. Create a new account and let the old account expire due to non-activity.

    All of the entries on the old account will eventually be purged from our database with the old account.

** It is very important that you keep your account information up-to-date, and that you remember your login information. **

 

Why don't I just store this information on my computer?

Many of our customers do make use of a local storage for their registration codes, license keys, and serial numbers.  We highly recommend that you continue to back up this information on your computer.

Using regcode.com compliments your current registration and licensing storage methods by insuring that you have access to your information from anywhere in the world and at any time you have access the web.
